I'm dead lucky! I'm writing these words in glorious sunshine

while enjoying a Retreat at Ushaw College, where I started

my studies to become a priest more than 50 years ago.

I've been reflecting on my happy experience of meeting

countless people, young and old, who are living good,

generous and useful lives. I keep going back to the words

of John, the closest friend of Jesus of Nazareth -

"No-one has ever seen God but as long as we love

one another God will live in us and his love will be

complete in us."
