The money was raised from Coffee Mornings, the collection box in the porch and from indivdual donations. We are grateful for the generous support we receive from the people of the parish.

focusafrica is Cafod's main fundraising project spanning 3 years. The funding is helping people in many countries of Africa:-

In Mozambique market sellers are helped to ensure they can grow or buy enough food for their families.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country where an estimated 4 million people died between 1998 and 2003 in the most devastating conflict in Africa for over a decade, multi-ethnic farmers associations have been set up and livestock replenished to provide meat, milk, fertilizer and income.

In Kenya women are helped to set up their own small businesses in the aftermath of the devastating drought.

In Sudan, Cafod's partner runs a literacy programme for women. Some of the students have gone on to jobs in goverment.

We have sent £1,250.00 so far to focusafrica.

January 2008

On November 10th / 11th 2007 All Saints Pariish Centre

was ablaze with colour - A Sharing Fair sale was taking place! For those not familiar with this organisation, it is an initative

of the Good Shepherd Sisters worldwide with the object of providing useful and dignified work for vulnerable girls and

young women. Throughout the world the sisters are helping women to create beautiful crafts by learning weaving and

sewing skills and other techniques to earn their living and support their families. They produce a variety of handcrafted items:

bags and purses of hand-woven fabric, toys that stimulate the imagination and learning, cards, pottery and home

accessories not found in any other world shop. In the UK the project director is Sister Lucina Wogan who visited

this parish in 2006 and inspired us to have our first very successful sale. The photographs show enthusiastic

customers doing thier Christmas shopping this year at our Self Managed Event. During the 5 years of Sharing Faair's

existence in the UK, crafts worth £166,093 have been sold. We look forward to the next phase of this very

worthwhile organisation.
